SENIOR CO-OP
I'm surprised by how well we managed to face adversity early on. We were faced with a major problem, the budget we were given was difficult to work with due to the fact that materials right now are very expensive. The cost for wood and metal has sky rocketed because of many factors including the housing crisis going on at the moment. When we got the news that our budget was tight we had to adjust a lot of the ideas we had planned and decided to change a couple of the part we wanted to get to be able to afford the build. We surprisingly were able to go quite lower than the given budget, so now we don't have the worry of making small mistakes (I'm confident we won't make many since we are all experienced in the shop and have eachother).

My main fear for this Co-op was that the team wouldn't be able to get the funding for our project and that we would end up not having a coop (This was thankfully not the case since we were able to meet the budget). I hope that I become proficient with the new tools in the workshop. I haven't used the metal cutting tools yet. Luckily I have people around me that can show me how to use the equipment efficiently and safely. This coop relates to my plans after college because it's preparing me to follow a passion or project of mine, also its training me to be a better teammate. Below I attached a couple of images from this week. We mainly planned a lot this week to be prepared we budgeted, transformed the shop, made a cut list, checked dimensions, took a trip to a home depot, and more. d |
